The move comes one day after the Cardinals
reportedly welcomed back Lance Lynn on a one-year contract. The
36-year-old right-hander helped the team win the 2011 World
Series.
Gibson, 36, recorded a career-high in wins last season, posting
a 15-9 mark with a 4.73 ERA in 33 appearances (all starts) in
his lone season with the Baltimore Orioles. He struck out 157
batters over 192.0 innings.
Gibson owns a 104-100 record with a 4.54 ERA in 300 career
appearances (294 starts) with the Minnesota Twins (2013-19),
Texas Rangers (2020-21), Philadelphia Phillies (2021-22) and
Orioles.
Gibson played collegiately at Missouri in Columbia, which is
approximately 125 miles from Busch Stadium.
