On
Thursday Sept. 28 Chester-East Lincoln School hosted a “Keeping Our
Kids Cyber Safe” Education event taught by Detective Richard
Wistocki. This event was funded by CEL, West Lincoln -Broadwell
School and Lincoln Junior High School. The purpose of the
presentation was to teach parents and grandparents how to assist in

Aside from in depth education for
those present, tools were provided for more extensive review,
including:
Cyberparenting-101.com - A Cyber Parenting course which includes
focus and navigation on the following topics: social media,
Online gaming, Cyber bullying, the risks of posting online,
sextortion, monitoring software, and more.
JuvenileJusticeOnline.org - created by Detective Wistocki for
School Administration, School Resource Officers, Juvenile
Officers. This tool is to be used in cases of sexting, online
bullying, and much more.
Detective Wistocki met with Junior High School students at the
three schools last week to educate them on keeping themselves
safe. They were told NO ONE has the right to make them feel bad
about themselves, in person or on social media, and to report it
to an SRO and that person will handle it from there.
