Fundraiser Garage Sale at the Logan County Genealogical & historical Society starts Friday morning

A gigantic garage sale is being planned for this weekend, Oct. 6 and 7, at the Logan County Genealogical & Historical Society located across the street from the Lincoln Depot.

Among sale items are twelve padded folding chairs, two wicker chairs, a quilt rack, an end table, table and desk lamps, a tea service set, and mirror.

Other items include framed pictures, a large quantity of frames, a nine volume set of books by Alexander Dumas published in 1893, including The Count of Monte Christo, a copy of the 1982 Logan County History, post cards, popular and genealogical books, a Playschool grill, Little Tykes play kitchen, large quantity of play dishes, food, and pans; and a quantity of wooden puzzles;  two coffee makers, a child's rocking chair, a cross stitch quilt, a hand crocheted quilt, a quilt top, dish towels, hot pads, throw pillows, table cloth, electric heated mattress pad, afghan, doilies, and a seasonal garden flag set.

Also available are an incubator, baskets, a large quantity of glassware, vases, bowls, plasticware, kitchenware, exercise equipment including a body stepper, hand weights and resistance bands, a cookie jar, a wall clock, a scanner, cordless phone, and a DVD player.

More sale items are DVDs, CDs, and VCR tapes including four Illinois Stories PBS series offerings including the Cubs and Cardinals special.

Dried arrangements, Christmas decorations, a quantity of three-ring binders, storage files, clothing and much miscellaneous.

Sale hours are Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proceeds from this sale will help defray the costs of operating the non-profit Historical and Genealogical Society. Additional sale items will be accepted until 5 p.m. Thursday.
