[October 04, 2023]    GFWC Lincoln Woman’s Club held their first National Day of Service by hosting a Stuff the truck event at two locations.

The club asked the community to donate items to be given to local food pantries and received more than 800 items along with monetary donations.

Club members would like to thank all who stopped by to help combat food insecurity.

Also, thanks to Graue Chevrolet for the use of a truck, Farm and Home for offering an additional donation location, Doug Rader for displaying his antique car, and Ruth Sloot for creating our poster/flyer.

The club also received generous donations from First Presbyterian Church and Graue Chevrolet.

There are 34 million people in the U.S. who lack access to an adequate food supply to fulfill their basic needs. Among them, 9 million children are facing hunger. Fifty-three million people resorted to food banks after the COVID-19 pandemic. Even more alarming: EVERY county in the U.S. has families grappling with food insecurity.

Thank you for standing with the Woman's Club as they battle food insecurity.
