[October 11, 2023]     Lincoln Community High School, in conjunction with the Special Education Work Training Program, is set to open its very own school store, Lincoln’s Locker! Lincoln’s Locker is located next to the main office in the junior/senior hallway.

Store hours are Monday-Friday from 7:45-7:55 am, 11:06-11:36 (1st lunch), 12:00-12:30 (2nd lunch), and after school from 3:12-3:30 pm.

Lincoln’s Locker will take traditional monetary tender, but students and staff have also worked to create a price list for Railer Rockstar tickets to coordinate with the Railer Rockstar initiative this year.

Lincoln’s Locker will sell gum, mints, suckers, and an occasional seasonal treat. School supplies such as student planners, LCHS PE t-shirts and shorts, pocket folders, mechanical pencils, pens, highlighters, colored pencils, and Sharpies are just a few of the supplies that students will be able to purchase.

After the store’s soft launch, LCHS students, along with Railer Nation, will have an opportunity to purchase Lincoln Railer apparel and merchandise such as temporary tattoos, decals, stationary, beaded bracelets, key chains, bags of various sizes, mugs and cups of various sizes, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats.

Lincoln’s Locker employs students in the LCHS Special Education Work Training Program, who have helped in the planning and preparation of the initial opening. They’re quickly becoming experts at comparison shopping and problem solving. Students have learned how to use a cash register, make name tags, and create graphics for use on apparel and merchandise. They have filled out purchase orders and gone shopping for needed items online and in the store. They’ve also been involved in many important decisions involving cost, profit, and pricing.

The excitement for Lincoln’s Locker is contagious. LCHS special education students have offered to come in before school to help get the store open by 7:45 am when the students arrive and want to take a “working lunch” so they can work again! Likewise, many LCHS staff members have reached out to offer their assistance with Lincoln’s Locker.

Future Plans for Lincoln’s Locker:

● Future Lincoln’s Locker items will include healthy food options after school and before practices/games.

● We anticipate a virtual school store where the community can order “Railer gear” as well.

● In the future, we will organize a competition where the LCHS student body will be asked to create a slogan and design for the Lincoln’s Locker spirit wear for each of the upcoming holidays. A FREE LCHS holiday t-shirt will be given to those students whose ideas, wording, and/or images were used in the creation of the final products. There will be multiple winners!

● Ultimately, Lincoln’s Locker would also like to offer apparel and merchandise for themed events like Kick Cancer and Pink Out.
