The arrest followed a traffic stop, when police
allegedly found a gun in Kendrick's car, per multiple media
reports. TMZ reported that marijuana also was found in the car.
Kendrick was booked into Los Angeles County jail at 2:14 a.m.,
more than an hour after his arrest.
The Rams found out about Kendrick's arrest in the morning,
according to coach Sean McVay.
"We're continuing to gather more information on that," McVay
said Monday afternoon. "Until then, I'm gonna just kind of leave
it at that until I have all the appropriate information. I don't
think it would be appropriate for me to speak on things that I
don't have the totality of it, other than knowing that he was
arrested early this morning, and that's kind of where we're kind
of at at that."
The incident occurred following the Rams' 26-9 win over the
Arizona Cardinals on Sunday in Inglewood, Calif. Kendrick was
credited with two tackles in the victory.
Kendrick, 23, was selected by the Rams in the sixth round of the
2022 draft out of Georgia. As a rookie, he appeared in 15 games
(six starts) and amassed 43 tackles and four passes defensed. In
six games this season, all starts, he has 25 tackles, two for
losses, and three passes defensed.
