Obituary
Dorothy Ann York Krueger, 75, of
Lincoln, passed away October 8, 2023, at her
residence. Dorothy passed away just five days after
her husband Robert Krueger.
Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Friday, October 13,
2023, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. The
family requests casual dress, Illini gear, or Mickey
Mouse gear. Cremation rites will then be accorded,
and burial will be at a later date in Oak Ridge
Cemetery, Springfield.
Dorothy was born November 24, 1947, in Chicago, IL.,
the daughter of Gene Zar and RoseMarie (Morgensen)
Zar. She married Robert L. Krueger on December 14,
1991. He preceded her in death.
Dorothy sold antiques all of her life. She was a
Federal Postal Service worker for 10 years, she
loved gardening and flowers. Her grandchildren were
the light of her life. Dorothy and Bob loved dancing
together, attending concerts and listening to music,
and going to car shows together. Dorothy raised and
showed Great Danes for many years. She was an avid
Mickey Mouse fan and collector.

Survivors include: her children, Deborah Johnson (Bill), and
Scott York (Sharon); step children Kelly Wallman, Chuck York, and Jeff York
(Connie); grandchildren: Mark Wallman Jr. (Kristi), Kyle Wallman, Kavion Beler,
Crystal Ramsey, Amber Willen, Robyn Johnson, Tim York (Ashley), Aundrea York
(Hayden Carroll), Jennifer Zerra (Matthew), Jeff York (Alexis), and Nathan York;
great grandchildren: Kane Wallman, Khloe Wallman, Carter Willen, Sullivan
Mitchell, Tinley York, Oliver Carroll, Aiyanna Knowles, Kaydence York, Bentley
York, Avery Brown, Ayejay Brown, and Jade Brown; Siblings: Gail Hanks (Julian)
and Jim Hall Zar (Sharon).
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Krueger, brother
Gary Zar, and sister Jari Zar.
Memorials may be made to American Lung Association, Susan G. Komen, or American
Legion Post 263.
