Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut 7-5, 6-7 (3), 6-2 in three hours,
three minutes.
Andy Murray of Great Britain got past Germany's Yannick Hanfmann
7-5, 6-4. Argentina's Sebastian Baez and Germany's Jan-Lennard
Struff also won their opening matches.
Erste Bank Open
No. 5 seed Alexander Zverev of Germany made quick work of
Austrian wild card Sebastian Ofner, winning 6-4, 6-1 in the
first round in Vienna.
Ofner had five aces and just one double fault, but he could not
stop Zverev on his first serve (23 of 26 points, 88.5 percent).
Zverev never faced break point en route to the 78-minute
victory.
No. 8 seed Karen Khachanov defeated Roman Safiullin 6-4, 6-4 in
a match between Russians.
Cameron Norrie of Great Britain, Matteo Arnaldi of Italy and
Jiri Lehecka of the Czech Republic also advanced.
