Douglas "Doug" L. Ritterbush, 58, of Lincoln passed away on Sunday,
September 3, 2023 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. |
Visitation:
Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.
at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hartsburg.
Service:
Monday, September 11, 2023 at 2 p.m. at the church

Obituary
Douglas "Doug" L. Ritterbush, 58, of
Lincoln passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at
Springfield Memorial Hospital.
A Memorial Service for Doug will be held on Monday,
September 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's
Lutheran Church in Hartsburg with Pastor Steven
Goodwin officiating.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 10,
2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at St. John's
Lutheran Church in Hartsburg.
Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery,
Hartsburg, Illinois.
Douglas Logan Ritterbush was born on April 20, 1965
in Lincoln the son of Fred E. and Nancy Jane (Wibben)
Ritterbush. He was united in marriage to Jodi Westen
on April 29, 1995. She survives.
Also surviving are his daughter: Emma
Ritterbush, one sister: Lisa (David) Conrady, one
brother: Darien (Leonard Racine) Ritterbush. Several
nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, nephew : Ross Conrady and his father-
in-law : Darwin Westen. |
Doug graduated from Hartsburg-Emden
High School in 1983, Lincolnland Community College
in 1985 and Illinois State University in 1987. He
was employed as a Sales Associate for Lakeshore
Beverage for many years and was known locally as
"The Bud Man."
Doug was of the Lutheran faith.
He was larger than life, didn't know a stranger, and
loved to laugh. Doug was happiest when he was
cooking and gathering with family and friends.
He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.
Memorials may be made to a College Education Fund at
Heartland Bank for his daughter or to the Ross
Conrady 4-H Memorial Scholarship.
