Lady Railers pick up two wins in the Hampton Inn Varsity Volleyball Tournament
Team improves to 11-1 on the season

The Lady Railers defeated Deer Creek-Mackinaw and Mahomet-Seymour Friday night in the 2023 Hampton Inn Varsity Volleyball Tournament held at Lincoln Community High School.

In the 5:00 p.m. match Lincoln defeated Deer Creek - Mackinaw 25-15 and 25-18 in quick fashion. Kloe Froebe had a season-high 12 kills versus Deer Creek Mackinaw. Alyssa Company and Peyton Sasse each had 9 kills in the win. Addie Qualters had 27 assists. Becca Heitzig had 15 digs. Taryn Stoltzenburg had 12 digs.

In the 8:00 p.m. match the Lady Railers defeated Mahomet-Seymour in three sets that lasted about an hour and ten minutes. The Bulldogs are an excellent volleyball team, ranked no. 3 by MaxPreps in Illinois while your sensational Lady Railers come in ranked no. 2 by MaxPreps. Lincoln won the first set 27-25. The Bulldogs won the second set 26-24. And then it was Lincoln with the 15-11 win in set three. Each set was filled with intense moments, great volleys and some really spectacular plays. Peyton Sasse led the team with 12 kills. Alyssa Company had a season-high 10 kills. Kloe Froebe had 9 kills. Addie Qualters had 32 assists. Becca Heitzig had 22 digs and Taryn Stoltzenburg had 13 digs.

The tournament will continue today with Lincoln playing Peoria Notre Dame at 9:00 a.m.
