Obituary
Lacy Hall II, 79, of Elkhart, passed
away Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Memorial Medical
Center in Springfield.
Lacy was born July 9, 1944, in Lincoln, the son of
Lacy and Irene (Greer) Hall Sr. He married Sherry
Abbey on February 24, 1968, in Algonac, MI. She
survives.
Lacy is also survived by his children, Jennifer
(Todd) Thomson, Megan (J.) Drake, and Seth (Rachel)
Hall; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
his brother, Alan (Teresa) Hall; and his four
nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Lacy was a servant at heart. He was a member of the
Elkhart High School board and served on the Elkhart
Fire Department for many years, including as Fire
Chief.
He was joyfully dedicated to serving
the Lord as Sunday school teacher, deacon, and elder
with Elkhart Christian Church and was a member of
several international missionary boards. He enjoyed
both making and shooting guns, woodworking, and
talking politics and religion, but his main love was
spending time with family and friends. Lacy never
met a stranger, as he treated everyone like a
long-lost friend. |
While we will all miss him deeply, we
are rejoicing in his freedom from this world. We are
sure of his salvation, through Christ, and that
gives us peace that passes all understanding.
A memorial service for Lacy will be held at 11 a.m.
on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Elkhart Christian
Church in Elkhart, with Pastor Mike Drake
officiating. Visitation will take place two hours
prior from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church.
Memorials may be made in Lacy’s name to Elkhart
Christian Church.
Cremation rites have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
