During the Mason City Fall Festival on September
16, the Arlee Theater will be open from noon to 8pm as a cooling
center.
Sponsored generously by Casscomm and in an effort to tie in with
the festival’s theme of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” the film
“Field of Dreams” will be playing free of charge at the Arlee
that afternoon, with shows starting at noon, 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm
and with a special collection of vintage baseball clips between.
Guests are welcome to come and go as they please, taking
advantage of the air conditioning and comfortable seating for
breaks between events while enjoying the town festival less than
a block away. This 1989, PG-rated classic stars Kevin Costner,
James Earl Jones, Ray Liotta, and Amy Madigan, and is about an
Iowa farmer being inspired by a voice he can't ignore to pursue
a dream he can hardly believe.
Supported by his wife, Ray begins
the quest by turning his ordinary cornfield into a place where
dreams can come true.
The Arlee is located at 139 S. Main Street in Mason City. For
