[September 07, 2023]
In the U.S., there are 34 million people who
lack access to an adequate food supply to fulfill their basic needs.
Among them, 9 million children are facing hunger. Fifty-three
million people resorted to food banks after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Even more alarming: EVERY county in the U.S. has families grappling
with food insecurity.

To
commemorate the Inaugural National Day of Service, we invite you to
stand with GFWC Lincoln Woman’s Club in their battle against food
insecurity. You can contribute by participating in our
STUFF-THE-TRUCK Event scheduled for Saturday, September 30th from 10
a.m. to 2 p.m. at their building at 230 N. McLean Street in Lincoln.
All food donations collected will be given to Lincoln’s food
pantries. The items most often
needed by food banks are: peanut butter, canned soup, canned fruit,
canned vegetables, canned stew, canned fish, canned beans, pasta
(whole grain), rice (brown), diapers, laundry detergent and women’s
hygiene products.
