John Douglas “Doug” Board, 60, of Lincoln, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at 10:50 am, at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Doug was born May 17, 1963, in Lincoln, the son of Marvin and Joyce (Anderson) Board. He married Regina Rivera on February 14, 1995, in Las Vegas.

Doug is survived by his children, Nick Board and Aurora Nicole (Jose Sanchez) Board; his mother, Joyce; sister, Vicki (Keith) Hasprey of Lincoln; and brothers, Victor and Scott Board of Lincoln, and Jeff Board of Los Angeles, CA.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Wayne Board.

Doug was a co-owner of Family Custom Cleaners in Lincoln. While in LA and Las Vegas, he worked as a union carpenter. Doug was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lincoln and belonged to the Lincoln High School Class of 1982. He was involved in the Boy Scouts for many years.

During his free time, he liked to barbecue, jet ski, run half marathons; even completing a full marathon. Doug liked to derby and build derby cars with his son and friends. He was a very personable and friendly guy who loved to be with his family and friends. Doug was very involved with the community and will be dearly missed.

A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
