Friday
afternoon top notch teams in the Lincoln and Logan County area were
honored with a parade around the Logan County Courthouse Square in
Lincoln.
There were many groups represented including the West Lincoln
Broadwell basketball and volleyball teams, teams from Chester East
Lincoln and Mt. Pulaski schools, Railer wrestlers, FFA members,
State Choir members, LCHS Special Olympics as well as the Lincoln
Park District Special Olympians, just to name a few.
The streets were lined with people there to salute their favorite
teams, not the least of which was the Lincoln Lady Railers State
Champion Basketball teams.
The parade began with another outstanding person. Though not a
student at any of these schools now, Grand Marshal Tim McDougall has
long been dubbed as the Number One Railer Fan in Lincoln and Logan
County, rarely missing a game, and being the flag runner at all the
basketball and football games.
McDougall was driven around the square in the back of a shiny red
convertible from Xamis Ford.

There were many notable youth in
the parade, and all of them had their personal cheering section
in the audience. The one team that seemed to have 100 percent of
the crowd excited was the Lady Railers.
The ladies made school history this year, being the first team
from LCHS to win a state championship. They did so with a top
notch set of players who broke their own records over and over
again throughout the season.
So well have these ladies done that both the Logan County Board
and the Lincoln City Council passed resolutions and
proclamations for the Lady Railers
