Taryn Stoltzenburg scored the Railers lone run
in the bottom of the fourth inning. Stoltzenburg led off the
inning with a single, advanced to second on a wild pitch and
reached third on a sacrifice bunt. She scored when Kelsey Marten
slugged a double to center. The run in the fourth inning still
left the Railers trailing 4-1 at the time.
Rochester scored twice in the sixth inning and then really put
the nail in the coffin with five runs in the top of the seventh
inning.
Brooklyn Thompson and Peyton Purves each homered for the
Rockets.
Lincoln had four hits in the game, with Stoltzenburg having two
of them.
Kelsey Marten and Faith Eckhardt had the other two hits for
Lincoln.
Regan Kutz started the game for Lincoln and she lasted two
innings, giving up four hits and two runs. She walked one and
struck out one.
Madisen Wurth pitched five innings and allowed nine hits and
nine runs. She walked five and struck out seven.
Jaelyn Watts picked up the win for Rochester.
Lincoln’s record is now 4-7.
Better weather is forecasted to start the week as Lincoln hosts
Athens today at 4:30 p.m.
