Railsplitters defeat Rockets 6-2

[April 07, 2024]    The Railsplitters did a great job keeping the Rockets from taking off on Friday and with Wyatt Mammen and Colbie Glenn dealing on the mound, Lincoln was able to secure a 6-2 win.

Drew Hayes drove in the first run of the game for Lincoln. His single to center scored Jarrett Evers in the top of the third inning.

 

In the top of the fourth inning, a two-run double by Griffin Shaw did the most damage. Trey Schilling and Brenden Wurth added RBI singles to increase the lead to 5-0. All of the Railsplitters runs scored in the fourth inning were with two outs.

In the top of the fifth inning, Michael Lucas tacked on an RBI double, scoring Wes Tedrick to make the score 6-0.

The Rockets scored their two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Wyatt Mammen earned the win for Lincoln. He worked four and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and two runs. He walked four and struck out six.

Colbie Glenn pitched two innings and one-third. He walked two and struck out four.

Jarrett Evers had the best day at the plate for the Railsplitters. He was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Colbie Glenn, Michael Lucas, Griffin Shaw, Trey Schilling, Brenden Wurth, Drew Hayes and Karson Komnick each had one hit for Lincoln.

Lincoln did not commit a single error in the game while improving their record to 5-4 on the season.
