Building upon her desire to foster open and
constructive dialogue among members of the agricultural community,
State Senator Sally Turner (R-Beason) hosted her annual Agricultural
Advisory Committee meeting at the Central Illinois Ag facility in
Atlanta, Illinois.

Sen. Turner’s April 3rd Agricultural Advisory Committee meeting
included more than 40 farmers, farm bureau representatives, and
other agricultural leaders from throughout the 44th Senate
District. Meeting attendees had the opportunity to learn about
current ag-related legislation going through the General
Assembly and openly discuss agricultural issues.
“Agriculture is the number one industry and job creator in the
state of Illinois,” said Sen. Turner. “As a member of the Senate
Agriculture Committee, it is critical for me to meet with and
address the concerns of the men and women in this industry to
ensure our state implements the best agricultural policies
possible.”
In addition to the open discussion, attendees heard directly
from Director Jerry Costello of the Illinois Department of
Agriculture and Executive Vice-President Jeff Adkisson of the
Illinois Grain and Feed Association.
