On
Saturday morning, Lorrie “Bee” Paige along with husband
Darrell, sons Daniel and Michael, and other family
members were busy visiting with guests at the annual
Bee’s Cub Cadet spring open house.
The open house held at Bee’s is a sure sign of the
coming of warm weather and working outside in lawns and
gardens. The business specializes in lawn mowers and
outdoor equipment, offering Cub Cadet and Hustler name
brand mowers.
Paige said it had been a busy morning and even bore the
noon hour had arrived the business had sold several
mowers. She said that was both surprising and exciting
as it seemed this was the year that many felt it was
time to invest in something new.
The open house gives visitors a chance to look around
visit with the owner family and learn about what it
offered not just in lawnmowers but also in landscaping
materials and contracted projects, completed by Bee and
the crew.
In the lawnmower department, Bee’s sells Cub Cadet,
Hustler and Spartan mowers. At its inception Cub Cadet
was a division of International Harvester. Paige
explained that the company is now more stand alone and
has purchased the Hustler brand.

She said that Hustler sells only lever operated, zero turn mowers,
while Cub Cadet offers the more traditional tractor style mower with
the traditional steering wheel. She said that the lever operated
mowers are very popular and outsell the traditional tractor style.
But at the same time, she said there are still those who prefer the
look and feel of a typical garden tractor/mower.
The business also sells Envy All Terrain Vehicles because after all
that mowing, shouldn’t someone be able to go out and have a little
fun? The ATV’s are both fun and utilitarian, and street legal
models are available.
On Saturday guests enjoyed coffee and donuts in the morning and a
free lunch of BBQ and chips at lunch hour. There were also
free gifts and door prizes.
