Canucks come back to down Golden Knights

Conor Garland scored twice, including the game-winner, and J.T.
Miller collected three assists to give him a career-best 100 points on
the season as the host Vancouver Canucks claimed a 4-3 comeback victory
over the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday.
Vancouver's Quinn Hughes and Brock Boeser both netted one goal and one
assist. Goaltender Arturs Silovs made 20 saves for the Canucks (48-22-8,
104 points), who have a five-point lead on the Edmonton Oilers for the
Pacific Division lead. |

Jack Eichel scored twice in a three-point game
while Noah Hanifin collected one goal and one assist for the
Golden Knights. Goalie Logan Thompson stopped 26 shots and added
an assist.
Vegas (42-27-8, 92 points) holds the Western Conference's second
wild-card position.
Tomas Hertl, acquired from the San Jose Sharks at the trade
deadline, collected one assist in his Golden Knights debut. It
was his first game since undergoing knee surgery in late
January.
With the Golden Knights holding a 3-2 lead, the Canucks cued up
their second comeback of the clash starting with Boeser's 40th
goal of the season at 13:10 of the second period.
Garland gave the Canucks their first lead with 1:29 remaining in
the second period by pouncing on a loose puck to earn his 18th
of the season.
Vegas could not drum up an equalizer despite a third-period
push, and ended up surrendering a lead in a second consecutive
defeat.
Eichel converted his team's first shot when he opened the
scoring 111 seconds into the clash by using a defenseman as a
screen while whipping home a five-hole shot on the power play.
He doubled the lead with his team's second shot on net at the
8:06 mark, burying a feed set up by Jonathan Marchessault's
cross-ice pass for his 29th goal of the season.
Garland provided a much-needed boost for the Canucks by pouncing
on a rebound for a power-play goal of his own at 11:50 of the
opening frame for his 100th career goal in his 400th game.
Hughes tied the clash with a man-advantage marker at 14:26 of
the first period, a point-shot blast for his 17th goal of the
campaign.
Hanifin responded with his team's second power-play goal of the
game at 9:33 of the second period, a long point shot for his
13th of the campaign.
