Obituary

Helen M. Dalpoas, 75, of Lincoln, passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

Helen requested to be cremated and no services be held.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date.

Helen Maxine Schmidt was born on August 2, 1948, in Canton, the daughter of Wilburn Charles and Mary (Blodgett) Schmidt. She was united in marriage to Dominic Dalpoas on January 7, 1968. He survives.

Also surviving are her children: Donta (Laura) Dalpoas, Dolan (Elizabeth) Dalpoas, Devin (Susan) Dalpoas, Dakin (Brenna) Dalpoas, and Dayne (Katherine) Dalpoas; one sister: Carol (Sue Sutherland) Schmidt; two brothers: David (Cheryl) Schmidt and Richard Schmidt; one aunt: Margaret Bassette; and the ones she dearly loved – her 14 grandchildren: Samantha, Joseph, Cullen, Dominic, Louis, Owen, Dani Kay, Dabria, Luke, Will, Dyson, Dempsey, Claire, and Graham.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister: Shirley Barker.

Everyone who knew Helen knew she could be found either working in her yard or attending one of her grandkids’ sporting events. Helen’s life revolved around her family. She always made sure to celebrate and value the people she loved most. She never missed a birthday, decorated for every holiday (big and small), and always knew how to make each visit special.

Her hobbies included creating beauty in her home and yard, watching/listening to Lincoln Railer sporting events, and her many craft projects.

We couldn’t have asked for a better wife, mother, grandmother, or friend, and will miss Helen every day. Even though she’s gone, we know she’s still “right here” and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

In lieu of services, please plant a new flower in your yard - just as Helen would have wanted it.

During her life, Helen attended Holy Family Catholic Church and was active in the religious education program.

Memorials may be made to the ALS Foundation.

Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
