The Hilltoppers paid a visit to Cerro Gordo/Bement on Tuesday
afternoon and scored 27 runs in three innings, their highest scoring
			game yet this season.
In fact, the 10-0 Hilltoppers have outscored opponents this season
			120 to 13.

Mount Pulaski scored 13 runs in the first inning versus the Broncos,
with the first runs coming on a home run by Liam Smith. Smith’s
two-run shot to right scored lead-off hitter Eric Cooper. The next
three batters were each hit by pitches while the six guys after that
were each walked. When Landon Smith finally got in the batter’s box
for the second time in the inning, he made contact and his fielder’s
choice elevated the score to 9-0. That was also the first out of the
inning. Chance Payne then singled in two more runs for Mount
Pulaski. Franklin Wade would also contribute a single that scored
two runs and when the third out was finally recorded, the
			Hilltoppers had a 13-0 lead.

The Broncos struck back with a home run and a run-scoring single in
			the bottom of the first.

The second inning started as a disaster for the Broncos and believe
it or not, their luck only got worse. Landon Smith and Chance Payne
each had RBI singles early in the inning. Smith also stole home to
score another run. Following a couple more walks, Carter Clark
doubled to center to drive in two more runs. Tyler Cross scored on a
passed ball to make the score 19-2 before something really cool
happened. The Hilltoppers homered back-to-back-to-back. Eric Cooper
hit his home run with two runners on base and then it was Liam
Smith’s turn for a solo shot to center and then Landon Smith joined
the fun with a home run to center. When the last ball landed, the
			score was 24-2.

In the top of the third inning, Wade doubled in Kolin Gibbs and
after three more walks in the inning, the score was 27-2.

The Broncos added a run on an RBI single in the
bottom of the third inning. After the run scored, the next three
Broncos struck out, ending the game on what looked more like a
football score than a typical baseball score.
Mount Pulaski remains perfect on the season with the 27-3 win.

innings, allowing five hits and three runs. He walked one and struck
