The National Society
of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR)
annually offers an American History Essay Contest
open to all students in 5th -8th grade. The contest
was established to encourage young people to think
creatively about our nation’s great history and
learn about that history in a new light. Locally,
the Abraham Lincoln DAR Chapter provided essay
information to twelve Logan County schools. Essays
written by two students from Lincoln Zion Lutheran
School were chosen as the chapter level winners.
Congratulations to Ellie Wrage, the Logan County 8th
grade winner and Katelyn Ray, the Logan County 7th
grade winner. Award certificates and $25 checks were
presented to the winners at a recent school
assembly.
