Michael Howard wins 2024 LAMS Scholarship

 

[April 12, 2024]    Congratulations to Michael Howard, who received the annual LAMS Scholarship for 2024. Michael is a senior at Athens High School and is planning to pursue a degree in music composition next year at a school that is yet to be determined. Michael performs with the LAMS orchestra, and an original composition of his was performed at this year’s winter concert in December. LAMS is thrilled to be able to help Michael in his future pursuits. He is shown here with LAMS Board President, Sylvia Klokkenga, presenting the award at this year’s Spring Concert.

Each year, opportunities for scholarships are provided to qualifying student participants that are furthering their education beyond high school. Students must have participated in a LAMS program (chorale or orchestra) for a season.

Lincoln Area Music Society has been providing the opportunity for local musicians to get together and perform for our community for decades. Concerts are held in the winter and in the spring. This summer, band concerts in Latham Park are planned for June 2, 9, 23 and 30th in Latham Park.
