Obituary
William Knollenberg, 97, of Lincoln,
passed away on April 13 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital, Lincoln.
William served in the U.S. Army from December 6,
1945, until May 6, 1947. He ran his own auto detail
business until his retirement. William was
affiliated with Immanuel Lutheran Church.
He was born on August 13, 1926, in Lincoln, the son
of Herman and Bertha Knollenberg. He married Betty
Lou Meyer on July 30, 1950, in Lincoln at Immanuel
Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death in 2009.
William is survived by his sister, Dorothy (Richard)
Hampe; two daughters, Brenda Lee (Timothy) Weimer of
Punta Gorda, FL, and Barbara Lynn (David) Erbe of
Creve Couer; grandchildren, Naomi Tiffani (Jason)
Gordon of Peoria, Carl Robert Weimer of Huntsville,
AL, Margaret Whitney Weimer of Sandston, VA; and
great-grandson, Timothy Carl Weimer of Huntsville,
AL. |
He was preceded in death by his
parents; wife, Betty; brothers, Walter, Norman, and
Kenneth Knollenberg; and his sister, Ruby Aper.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Lincoln.
Cremation rites have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
