[April 23, 2024]     Three female members of the Warrensburg-Latham Lions Club were recognized not only being the first females to break the gender barrier for W-L Lions Club, but also for their years of membership to the club.

Lions Club District Governor Amy Hill presented 15-year membership pins to those three: Pat Bales, Karen Seefeldt and Rita Scanavino. W-L Lions Club President Terry Howe recognized them for their continued active participation in the organization. Mrs. Bales coordinates the club’s annual Brotherhood Tree, which collects donations to provide food and Christmas gifts from families in the Warrensburg-Latham School District. Mrs. Scanavino serves as the liaison between the Club and the W-L schools. Mrs. Seefeldt oversees the membership committee.

The Warrensburg-Latham Lions Club meets the first and third Thursdays of the month at noon in the Illini Park Pavilion, 120-190 W. Warren St., Warrensburg. Chartered in January 1958, it is the sole service club organization representing the Warrensburg-Latham School District. The club is comprised of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
