at Tuesday CIVC meeting

At 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, two dedicated members of
the Central Illinois Veterans Commission (CIVC) retired from their
positions on the board of directors.

The meeting was called to order by President Joe
Schaler who led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance followed by
Marsha Fernandes leading everyone in a prayer of thanksgiving for
all the things CIVC has accomplished, and also for protection for
all the brave men and women currently serving our country.

Dan Benedict and Chuck Conzo were called forward to
receive recognition for their service.
Each of them was part of a group of likeminded individuals who saw
the need for veteran's assistance in Logan County. The CIVC was
founded in December of 2018 with both included as charter board
members.

The mission of the CIVC is to offer a variety of
services and programs to support Central Illinois veterans through
housing assistance, job training, and mental health resources.

Beautiful clocks with engraved plaques were presented
to Dan and Chuck to commemorate and celebrate their dedication to
the board.
The current CIVC board is: President Joe Schaler, Vice President
Marsha Fernandes, Treasurer Lisa Ramlow, Secretery Patti Schonauer,
and Directors: Tracy Welch, Annie Coers, Steve Watts, Kelly Watts,
and Jim Allen.
