[July 31, 2024]  LINCOLN - Dennis L. Welch 79, of Lincoln passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Rosary Service:  Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. at the Peasley Funeral Home.

Visitation:  Saturdayfrom 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Peasley Funeral Home.

Obituary

Dennis L. Welch, 79, of Lincoln passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

A Visitation for Dennis will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Peasley Funeral Home.

A Rosary Service will be held prior to the visitation at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at a later date.

Dennis Lee Welch was born on October 20, 1944 in Lincoln the son of Leo John and Cecelia Walsh Welch. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Baker on March 27, 1976.

He is survived by his loving wife Phyllis. Also surviving are his children: Wendy (Brandon) Kepple and Brandon (Emily) Welch. Four grandchildren: Kayden Welch-Jording, Damian Welch, Alexis Welch, and Harley Shoemaker.
Two sisters: Rita (Leonard) Bakken, Sheila (Don) Davison. One brother: Jack Welch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother: Patrick Welch, sister-in-law: Donna Welch.

Dennis graduated from the Lincoln Community High School in 1963. He served in the Army National Guard of Illinois. He retired from Archer Daniels-Midland where he was a Machinist.

He was also a farmer in East Lincoln Township. He was a volunteer at the Holy Family Catholic Food Pantry.

Dennis was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Beason Sportsman's Club and American Legion Post #263 of Lincoln.
His hobbies included Illini Basketball games, gardening, collecting toy tractors, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

Dennis was loved by everyone that knew him. He will be deeply missed.

Memorials may be made to the Holy Family Food Pantry or the Logan County 4-H Foundation.

Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
