Obituary
John Stanley Grimsley Sr., 74, of
Lincoln, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at
his home.
John was born on July 29, 1949, in Lincoln, the son
of Stanley and Helen (Wade) Grimsley. He married
Joyce Hilgendorf on October 13, 1979, in Lincoln.
She preceded him in death in 2014.
John is survived by his children, John (Christine
Polley) Grimsley Jr. and Barbara (Rick) Vogel; five
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his
brother, Charles Grimsley.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; his
parents; and his siblings.

A graveside service for John will be
held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at
Hartsburg Union Cemetery where full military rites
will be accorded by the Lincoln American Legion Post
#263.
Memorials may be made in John’s name to the Lincoln
American Legion Post #263.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
