BALLOONS OVER 66 INFO! (destinationlogancountyil.com)

All balloons launches and glow will be at Open Arms Lincoln this year – 1321 IL-10, Lincoln, IL

The flights are slated for:

  • Friday Evening – Hare & Hound Target Competition (Approx. 6:00/6:15 PM)

  • Saturday Morning – Balloons will fly into Open Arms (Approx. 6:15/6:30 AM)

  • Saturday Evening (Approx. 6:00/6:15 PM)

  • Balloon Glow - Saturday Evening at 8:00 PM

The glow is where the pilots set up the balloons, stay tethered to the ground and glow at night.

Would you like to help crew a balloon during Balloons Over 66 Weekend? We would love to have you! If you are interested, please come to the Comfort Inn in Lincoln, IL at 5:00 PM Friday, August 23rd. Wear comfortable clothing. NO open-toed shoes, dresses, or skirts. Hope to see you there!

  • Balloon Media Flight - 6:00/6:30PM - Location TBD

Friday, 24th – Itinerary

  • Ribbon Cutting at Mainstage Downtown Lincoln - 1:00 PM

  • Art Fair at Lincoln Arts Institute - Downtown 5:00-8:00 PM

  • Open Arms - Activities for Kids at Latham Park - 5:00-8:00 PM

  • Friday Night Balloon Flight - Hare & Hound Target Competition - Approx. 6:00/6:15 PM

  • Lincoln Public Library Buck-A-Bag Book Sale 9:00AM-7:00PM

  • KCBS Ancillary Steak Cook-Off - 6:00-7:30 PM

  • Awards - 8:30 PM

  • Dock Dogs - Downtown- on Mclean St. between Broadway St. and Pulaski St.

  • Onsite Registration/ Practice – 12:00 pm
    o Big Air WAVE # 1 – 1:00 pm

    **Alcohol vending will be done from Spirited Republic, Alley-Bi Saloon, The Rusty Rail Pub, Lincoln Liquors**

  • Drive Up or Eat In- Biscuits & Gravy Breakfast - @ The Lincoln Masonic Lodge- 2022 N. Kickapoo St. - 7:00AM - 10:00AM

  • Balloons Over 66 5K - 8 AM starting at Lincoln Park District

  • LMH Farmers Market - Logan County Fairgrounds – 8:00AM - 12:00PM

  • Balloons Over 66 Softball Turf Challenge – 9:00AM

  • Balloon Walk - Walk in a retired hot air balloon! - Latham Park - 10:00AM

  • Art Fair at Lincoln Art Institute - Downtown - 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Sunday, 28th - Itinerary

  • Sunday Morning Balloon Launch - Balloons will launch from all over town, in hopes of flying directly over Downtown Lincoln (If Possible) - 6:15AM

  • Shady Car Show- Memorial Park at 11:00 AM
