Obituary
Joseph Loren Schauer, 82, of Lincoln
passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024, in his home
with his family by his side.
Loren was born on August 30, 1942, in Lincoln, the
son of Joseph Lorenz and Leon Frances (Vandervort)
Schauer. He married Bonnie Gibson, they later
divorced. He married Carol Ann Allen on June 26,
1971, in Lincoln.
Loren is survived by his wife, Carol; his son, Randy
Lee (Wendy) Schauer; his daughters, Dawn Marie
(Terry) Miller and Jennifer Lynne (Gabe) Koeppen;
his seven grandchildren, Zachary (Kayla Awe) Miller,
Brandon (Natalie) Miller, Kayla Schauer, Elizabeth
Merreighn, Madison Schauer, Katie (Dustin Dinger)
Gill, and Ryan Miller; his twelve
great-grandchildren, Elaina Miller, Landon Miller,
Joseph Miller, William Ruben, Aaliyah Miller,
Kayleigh Miller, Matthew Barber, Sadie Miller, Leo
Ruben, Maverick Barber, Maelynn Ruben, and Blakely.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents, and his
sisters, Jewel and Joanna. |
Loren worked at Cutler-Hammer/Eaton
Corp. for 30 years before retiring in 2004. He
proudly served his country in the US Army during the
Vietnam War from 1966-1968. Loren was a member of
The Salvation Army and a life member of the Lincoln
VFW 1756.
A celebration of Loren’s life and visitation will be
held on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 3
p.m. at the Oasis Senior Center 2810 Woodlawn Road,
Lincoln.
The family requests no floral arrangements and asks
that Memorial donations be made in Loren’s name to
the Oasis Senior Center or to his family.
A private family burial will take place at a later
date at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
