The
holiday is strategically placed between Black Friday and Cyber
Monday. Many businesses around Lincoln observed this holiday,
encouraging Christmas shopping at their local storefronts.
Some of the businesses that were open included:
• Mel-O-Cream
• Ink and Imprint
• Sir Renna Tea
• J & M Meat Market
• Guest House
• Small Town Creations
• The Bee
• Debbie’s Downtown Floral
• Indigo
• Prairie Threads
• Rose and Thorn
• ReNew Consignment and Thrift
• Mary Todd’s Hallmark
• Wild Petals
• Jerzi Rae’s
• Podbelsek Family Creations
While these were not nearly all the stores that were open on
Saturday, they were the ones that LDN managed to make it to
considering the weather.
One notable stop included Ink and Imprint. This is,
if you are unaware, a new bookstore in town. Their first full day of
business was Saturday, and there was a crowd of people looking
around.
There was a good selection of books, with the owner
sharing that they are going to be expanding more soon. She also
stated that, if a book you want is not in their store, they can
order it for you. They also had custom made cookies with their logo
courtesy of The Rolling Buttery.

Another notable stop was Debbie’s Downtown Floral. As
usual, the store was decorated floor to ceiling Christmas. Like last
year, they had someone playing Christmas tunes on the piano while
people shopped. As usual, their ambiance was second to none.

Another notable stop was ReNew, as the Grinch was
there taking photos with people who came in. LDN’s newest addition
Grayson, son of reporter Matt Boutcher, loved seeing the Grinch.
All in all, Small Business Saturday seemed like a very successful
day of business for Lincoln’s local businesses. If you missed out,
there’s no need to worry. There is still plenty of time to visit
these businesses, and all of Logan County’s local businesses, before
Christmas day. Happy shopping!
