River City Country Opry brings big Christmas bash to the Arlee Theater Dec. 12

[December 05, 2024]Mason City, IL: On Thursday, December 12 the River City Country Opry will reclaim the stage at Mason City's Arlee Theater for their big Christmas bash!

Led by Stan Edwards, this all-star crew has brought back a special guest performer who's been sorely missed- fiddle player Roger Ward!

Roger had been a constant presence with the group since 2016 until his recent retirement in the fall of 2023.

This month's show begins at 6:30pm, with doors opening at 5:45. Concessions will be available, and tickets are $10 at the door (ages 12 and under are free).

Early arrivals in town are encouraged to patronize any of the town's locally-owned eateries, including Subway, Mason City IGA, and Do Drop Inn Cafe. It is also worth noting stores Sweet Creek & Co (128 S. Tonica), Mason City Overstock Outlet (118 E. Elm), Junior's General Store (153 E Chestnut), Sixteen&Vine (158 N. Tonica), The Hot Spot/ Elm Street Consignments (200 S. Main), and Reign & Bros Baby & Toddler Clothing (128 S. Tonica) are all within a block or two of the theater and offer unique shopping opportunities at reasonable prices, and are typically open Thursday afternoons/evenings (see their individual Facebook pages for details).

Since the construction has concluded on Main Street, guests should be able to park easily downtown. This will be the group's last show of the year, and they will be taking January and February off, with plans to return in March.
