[December 08, 2024]    Santa Claus made a trip to Lincoln to participate in the annual Christmas parade on Thursday, December 5th. After the parade, Santa made one more stop at the Logan County Tourism Bureau before heading back to the North Pole to get ready for Christmas.

Santa and Mrs. Claus descended from their carriage pulled by a festive white horse with green and red hooves. They were met by several excited children and their parents. Santa stopped to talk to them as he made his way to the door.

Upon entering, several more kids ran up to the pair, giving both Santa and Mrs. Claus hugs and talking to them. A line had already formed from one end of the Tourism Bureau to the other, everyone excited to get their moment with Jolly Old St. Nicholas. The Logan County Royalty also stopped by to say hello.

As they waited, people were able to get some cookies and hot chocolate that was being offered for free by the Tourism Bureau. Several people were also present from the Land of Lincoln CEO program, selling fun flavors of cotton candy. These flavors ranged from apple pie and cinnamon bun to gingerbread and a flavor called “Sour Grinch.”

Once Santa and Mrs. Claus made their way to their seats in front of Lincoln’s statue, the kids started coming forward. Many were happy to see the pair, and some particularly young ones were a bit frightened. Santa and Mrs. Claus never lost their jolly demeanor, doing their best to make the moment magical for them.

After all the families had a chance to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, the two made their exit back to the North Pole. LDN did get photos of everyone who met Santa. If you were there and would like to see your picture, check out the slideshows from the event.
