JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — A 45-year-old man serving more than 60
years on a range of charges including armed robbery and
kidnapping escaped Mississippi's maximum security prison, state
officials said Monday.
Gregory Trigg escaped the Mississippi State Penitentiary, also
known as Parchman Farm in the Mississippi Delta's Sunflower
County, according to the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
Details on when Trigg escaped or how he did so were not
immediately released.
Trigg is serving 61 years for nine sentences from Madison
County, including armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping,
residential burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime and convicted
felon in possession of a firearm. He is also serving time for
vehicle burglary and theft committed in Rankin County and
nonresidential burglary committed in Scott County, the state's
corrections department said.
