Alyson Murphy and Audrey Cooper
combined for 27 points for Mount Pulaski in the victory.
Mount Pulaski is not afraid to
shoot the three and thanks in part to a trio of three-pointers
in the first quarter, the Lady Toppers ran out to an 11-6 first
quarter lead. Addison Brown added a two-point field goal to join
Alyson Murphy, Audrey Cooper and Elayna Marten in the first
quarter scoring.
By halftime Mount Pulaski was
up 21-11.
The Lady Toppers exploded for
19 third quarter points and got three-pointers from Murphy,
Bobell and Brown. The Lady Toppers held the Hawks to two free
throws in the quarter and the lead grew to 40-13.
Mount Pulaski continued the
tenacious defense in the fourth quarter, holding the Hawks to a
single field goal. Meanwhile Kelsey Beggs, Cooper and Bobell
sank three-pointers. Cecelia Davis led the team with four points
as Mount Pulaski had no trouble getting the 53-15 win over
Riverton.
Mount Pulaski improves to 7-1
on the season.
In the JV game Mount Pulaski
defeated Riverton 41-27.
