Obituary
Dennis Lee Brown, 89, of Lincoln,
passed away December 2, 2024 at his home surrounded
by his family.
Memorial services to celebrate both Dennis and
Kathryn Brown will be held at 1PM on Saturday,
December 21, 2024 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral
Home. Burial will be at 11 AM on Monday, December
23, 2024 at Camp Butler National Cemetery,
Springfield.
Dennis was born November 8, 1935, in Lincoln, IL.,
the son of George L. Brown and Lecky C. (Halsey)
Brown. He married Kathryn (Lueschen) on July 18,
1958. She preceded him in death on February 5, 2020.
He proudly served his country in the United States
Navy. Dennis graduated from Lincoln Community High
school and retired from Caterpillar. He enjoyed
traveling, he and Kathryn were full time RV’ers for
10 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping.
Dennis loved his family and one of his favorite
activities was watching his grandchildren play
sports.

Survivors include his children: Michael (Beverly) Brown
and Barbara Newberry (Les Gates); grandchildren:
Chris Brown, Michelle Green, Thomas Shull, Michael
Newberry, and James Newberry; 12 great
grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren also
survive.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s
Association and will be accepted at the funeral
home.
