Hoops for Hope a huge success; Mount Pulaski defeats Illini Central 36-30

[December 17, 2024]  The Lady Toppers basketball team hosted Hoops for Hope last Thursday night and the event was a huge success. The proceeds of the event benefited the family of 11 month old Reese Volle. Players, coaches and fans raised $9,181 for Reese and his mom and dad, Ronnie and Lexi Volle.

On the court the Lady Toppers defeated Illini Central 36-30.

Mount Pulaski trailed 10-9 at the end of the first quarter.

The Lady Toppers held the Cougars scoreless in the second quarter and took over the lead, 16-10 the score.

Mount Pulaski was able to hold the lead after the third quarter, 30-18 the score.

The Lady Toppers held on for the 36-30 win and improved their record to 8-1 on the season.

Alyson Murphy led Mount Pulaski with 17 points.

Addison Brown continues to play well and she hit double-figures with 11 points.
