[December 13, 2024]  LINCOLN -  Earl Daniel "Dan" Herrin, 67, of Lincoln, passed away December 11, 2024 at home surrounded by his family.

Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2024 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home

Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2024 also at the funeral home

Obituary

Earl Daniel "Dan" Herrin, 67, of Lincoln, passed away December 11, 2024 at home surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Monday, December 16, 2024 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Tuesday, December 17, 2024 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in New union Cemetery.

Dan was born July 8, 1957, the son of Joe Herrin and Bonnie (Hunter) Herrin. He married Janice Boyer on July 11, 2001. She preceded him in death on June 29, 2020.
He was a Caterpillar employee for more than 20 years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, Pittsburg steeler fan, and Illini fan. He enjoyed chocolate, bowling, and spending time with the grandkids. He used to enjoy riding the motorcycle and playing darts. He loved his dogs Sarah and Harley dearly.

Survivors include his children: John (Stephanie) Nicholas, Tanya Nicholas, Jennifer (Laszlo) Billington, and Abigail Dinger; grandchildren: Jared (Morgan) Stanley, Miranda (Tim) Harris, Camden Nicholas, Lena Nicholas, Audrey (Luke) Buss, Brayden Buss; great grandchildren: Eloise Mason, Atreus Green, and Kyler Green; brother-in-law Steven Ryan, and sister Pam Herrin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janice, sister Bonita Ryan, grandson Ethan Nicholas, and dogs Sarah and Harley.

Memorial donations may be made to the family or to the Humane Society of Logan County and will be accepted at the funeral home.
