A graveside service for Shawn will be held at 11:00
a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Holy Cross
Cemetery in Lincoln.

Obituary
Shawn Michael Ware, 47, of Lincoln,
IL., (formerly of Middletown, IL.), passed away on
Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at St. Clara’s Rehab and
Senior Care.
Shawn was born on December 26, 1976, in Lincoln,
IL., to Richard Ware and Sandra Snyder.
Shawn is survived by his son, Ethan Ware of Texas;
his father, Richard (Bobbi Willis) Ware of Kentucky;
stepfather, David (Kimberly Free) Deters of Lincoln;
brother, Jasen Deters of Delavan, step-brother,
Jeffrey (Andrea) Deters of Rochester, step-sisters,
Jodi Deters of Broadwell and Angie Grimm of Kansas
City; brother in-law, Jay (Kendra) Banning of
Springfield; and a special niece, Hailey Banning of
Chatham. Shawn is also survived by his grandmother,
Marilyn Deters of Lincoln, and several aunts,
uncles, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra
Deters; sister, Dawn Elizabeth Banning;
grandparents, Edwin and Francis Snyder, Everett and
Irma Ware, John Deters Jr., and Robert and Adelia
Willis.

Shawn worked at Lowe’s, and then in
maintenance at Lincoln College, and Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital for many years. He enjoyed
fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. Shawn also
enjoyed NASCAR and was an avid fan and follower of
Notre Dame and Chicago Bears football. He loved all
animals, especially his black lab, “Bear”.
A graveside service for Shawn will be held at 11:00
am on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Holy Cross
Cemetery in Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, memorials
may be made in Shawn’s name to St. Jude Children’s
Research Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted
to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
