The Bulls have swept three meetings with the
Hornets in January, with White the top Chicago scorer in all of
those games. The point guard shot 12-for-22 from the field with
four 3-point baskets and delivered nine assists on Wednesday.
The Hornets, who lost their fifth consecutive game, completed a
0-4 homestand. This was the first of those results to end in a
single-digit margin of defeat.
Miles Bridges connected six 3-point shots on his way to 30
points and 15 rebounds. P.J. Washington pumped in 26 points on
10-for-17 shooting, Brandon Miller finished with 21 points and
Nick Richards added 10 points.
All five Chicago starters made at least one 3-pointer. The Bulls
shot 51.7 percent overall from the field.
White had consecutive baskets as the Bulls widened their lead to
108-97 with just over five minutes to play.
Chicago scored 31 fourth-quarter points after the Hornets, who
have been shoddy defensively, kept the Bulls under 30 in each of
the first three quarters.
Drummond racked up six points in the first four minutes of the
fourth quarter as the Bulls went up 98-92.
Even with 16 total 3-point baskets, the Hornets didn't have
enough to keep up.
The Hornets led 59-57 at halftime prior to a back-and-forth
third quarter.
The Bulls were without forward Dalen Terry, who suffered an
ankle sprain a night earlier. Charlotte played without point
guard LaMelo Ball because of a right ankle injury.
Chicago posted an 8-7 record in January, including those three
victories against the Hornets.
