Railer Wrestling wins Regional title

Congratulations to the Lincoln Railer Wrestling team for winning the regional championship this weekend at Bloomington High School.

The Railers had 195 points.

Bloomington had 164 points.

Normal West finished with 146 points.

This is the second Regional title in four years for the Railers.

The team also has 12 Sectional Qualifiers.

106 — Braiden Barrish — 2nd place

113 — Ethan Maynard — 2nd place

120 — Cort Pentecost — 2nd place

126 — Karter Hild — 3rd place

132 — Cam Bell — 3rd place

138 — Lakin Adams — Champion

144 — Jake Lawrence — Champion

150 — Ryne Metelko — 3rd place

157 — Aiden Frye — 2nd place

165 — Dawson McConnell — 2nd place

215 — Caleb Zirklebach — 2nd place

285 — Logan Wachendorf — 3rd place

All of the above wrestlers will wrestle in the Mahomet Sectional this coming weekend. The top 4 wrestlers at each weight advance to the state tournament in Champaign.

The team went 17-7 in duals this season and will compete as a team in the Team Sectional in Taylorville on Feb 20th.
