Obituary
Raymond Edward Burger, 90, of Lincoln
passed away on January 30, 2024 at The Lincoln
Village in Lincoln.
Raymond was born on March 31, 1933, in Lincoln, the
son of Richard and Clara (McGrew) Burger. He married
Ethel Irene Bryson on August 19, 1955, in Lincoln.
She preceded him in death on January 22, 2022.
Raymond is survived by his children, Raymond
“Raymie” Burger of Cornland; Becky (Terry)
Coppenbarger of Lincoln, and Robert (Emilie) Burger
of New Holland; his seven grandchildren, fifteen
great-grandchildren, and seven
great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his four
brothers, Richard, Marion, John, and Archie; his
sisters, Vivian and Margie; and one grandson.

Raymond proudly served his country in
the US Army during the Korean War. Raymond owned and
operated Burger’s Garage in Lincoln and later in
Cornland for several years. Raymond enjoyed
entertaining his friends and family playing his
harmonica, especially his favorite song, The Old
Rugged Cross.
Services for Raymond will be held at 10 a.m. on
Saturday, February 3, 2024, at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski.
Visitation will take place one hour prior to the
services from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. also at the funeral
home. Burial will follow the services at Carlyle
Cemetery in Lake Fork.
Memorial donations may be made in Raymond’s name to
The Lake Fork Community Center or TAPS in Pekin.
