Obituary
Albertine Brenda Marie McGee, 83, of
Lincoln passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at
Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Albertine Brenda McGee, well known as Brown Sugar,
was born and raised in Chicago, on September 29,
1940, to the late Albert and Alice Holland.
Albertine attended Wendell Phillips High School. She
worked at Lincoln Developmental Center for 25 years.
Albertine was a member of the Kingdom Hall of
Lincoln. She loved to dress fancy wherever she went.
She enjoyed music and dancing; Albertine did not
meet a stranger.
Albertine leaves behind her children, Melinda Jones,
Anthony Thompson, Trina (Raymond) Pinkerton, Tajauna
Thompson, and Rochelle Thompson; grandsons, Juan,
Shuan, and Justin Thompson; several
great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and
friends. She also leaves behind her special, loving
partner, Calvin McGee. |
She was preceded in death by her
parents, Albert and Alice Holland; sister, Joyce
Holland; and her brothers, Ronald and Robert
Holland.
Services for Albertine will be held at 1:30 pm on
Friday, February 16, 2024, at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Visitation will take place two hours prior from
11:30 am - 1:30 pm also at the funeral home. Burial
will follow the service at Zion Cemetery in Lincoln.
Memorials may be made in Albertine’s name to The
Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Lincoln.
