Delavan High School to present Little Shop of Horrors

[February 14, 2024]     Delavan High School will be performing the musical Little Shop of Horrors on March 15th and 16th, 2024 at 7:00pm and March 17th at 2:00pm the Delavan High School Poppenga gymnasium. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Little Shop of Horrors is a horror comedy rock musical written by Alan Menken with lyrics and book by Howard Ashman. It tells the story of Seymour Krelbourn, a meek and dispirited hourly worker at a flower shop that discovers a strange and interesting plant. With his help, the plant grows and flourishes, and with it grows Seymour’s fortune and fame. However, the plant eventually develops a thirst for blood and begins to threaten everything Seymour holds dear, including his blossoming relationship with his coworker Audrey.

The technical crew for the musical is headed by Moira Hurst as student director, David Holland as the lighting crew head, Lizzie Mount as the sound crew head, Ella Green as the stage crew head, and Lainey Klokkenga as the props and costumes crew head.

Other members of the crew include Maddy Albers, Isabella Fico, Addison Fisher, Nola Houston, Remy Martin, Peyton Nafziger, Corbin Soldal, and Khloe Stockham. Little Shop of Horrors is directed by Alison Knapik.

David Knapik serves as the technical director and Tabitha Gage serves the assistant director. Other adult supervisors include Susan Litwiller as the accompanist, Trudy Schaffner as the choreographer, and Jake Tierney on guitar.

Before Friday and Saturday night’s performance there will be a dinner hosted by the Delavan Education Foundation. Before Sunday’s performance there will be a lunch hosted by the Delavan Education Foundation. Tickets to these events will be sold separately from the musical tickets, and more information will be available as the date approaches.
