[February 18, 2024]

Lincoln Community Theatre is pleased to invite all who are interested to audition for LCT’s 2024 summer season. Auditions for Stephen Schwartz’s musical Godspell and Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night's Dream will be held together on March 8 and 9 at St. John United Church of Christ, 204 7th Street, in Lincoln.

Godspell will be directed by Tim Searby and presented June 20-23 at the Lincoln Community High School auditorium. Anyone age 13 and up is welcome to audition for this popular musical which “presents a contemporary reimagining of the Gospel of Matthew. Led by John the Baptist and Jesus, the characters engage in a series of parables, songs, and interactive scenes that convey messages of kindness, compassion, and understanding. Through storytelling and song, Godspell emphasizes the importance of love and forgiveness in the face of adversity” (from the LCT website).

Sheralyn Bolton will direct a 1920’s reimagining of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies on July 25-28. Ages high school and up are welcome to audition for speakeasy Shakespeare: “Flappers, jazz, Prohibition… enjoy this classic tale from the Bard in glamorous style. It’s a story of order and disorder, reality and appearance, and love and marriage. ‘The course of true love never did run smooth…’”.
