John Welsh Memorial Basketball Tournament this weekend in Lincoln

Lincoln district 27 and other Lincoln schools  are excited for the upcoming John Welsh Memorial Basketball Tournament which will be this Saturday, February 24th and Sunday the 25th.

This year the tournament will feature 167 teams participating on 14 courts across Lincoln at 10 different locations: Carroll Catholic, Chester-East Lincoln, Central, Lincoln Christian University (Open Arms), Lincoln High School, Lincoln Jr. High, Lincoln Park District Recreational Center, Washington-Monroe, West Lincoln-Broadwell, and Zion Lutheran.

The event will consist of 3rd-8th grade girls and boys teams with opening games starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday and ending at 6 p.m. on Sunday.

"We greatly appreciate our many wonderful sponsors and the countless volunteers who help make this tournament a success," said District 27 Superintendent Kent Froebe.
