Lincoln Youth Wresters compete in Illinois Kid Wrestling Federation Central Section Regional Tournament

Lincoln Youth Wrestling Competed in the Illinois Kid Wrestling Federation Central Section Regional Tournament at Mt Zion High School Sunday February 26, 2024, the result was as follows.

Tot Division (6 & Under)
Champion: Malachi Constant
2nd Place: Teagynn Adye
3rd Place: Eva Welch
This was the last tournament of the season for the Tot Division wrestlers.

Bantam Division (Ages 7 & 8)
2nd Place: Copper Johnson
3rd Place: Jaxon Byrd
4th Place: Owen Crawford, Latrelle Watkins, Lucas Martin
5th Place: Gabriel Charron
Also Competing were Houston Maunus, Braxton Bricky and Lennon Janssen

Intermediate Division (Ages 9 & 10)
Champion: Carter Johnson
6th Place: Liam Helton
Also competing were Keaton Parrish and Greyson Fisher

Novice Division (Ages 11 & 12)
4th Place: Preston Maestas

All the LYW wrestlers who finished in the top 6 of their respective divisions have qualified for the IKWF Central Sectional tournament next Saturday at Champaign Central High School. LYW’s 9 Qualifiers sets a record for the most sectional qualifiers in a season in the club’s 21-year history. Wrestlers who place in the top 3 of sectionals will qualify for the IKWF State Tournament.
