Obituary

James Jun, 85, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully with family at his side on Monday, February 19, 2024, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

No Services are scheduled for Mr. Jun. Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Burial will be at a later date at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, Illinois.

James Louis Jun was born on November 22, 1938, the son of Louis and Marguerite Jun. He was united in marriage to Sandra Lee Buck on May 8, 1965. They were together for 57 years until she preceded him in death in September 2022.

He is survived by his two sons: Andy (Shelley) Jun and Matthew (Amy) Jun; and six grandchildren: Rebekah, Luke, Adam, Leah, Liam, and Evan.

He was preceded in death by one sister: Janice Mueller.

 

Funeral Director

Jim graduated from Marquette High School in Alton in 1956 and St. Louis University in 1961. He then served in the United States Army before starting his career in the Savings and Loan business, and later retired after working many years for the State of Illinois.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, following University of Illinois athletics and was an avid Cardinals baseball fan. He could also be found some weekends helping to work on cars at a local garage or playing a friendly game of poker with his friends.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Peasley Funeral Home of Lincoln is assisting the family with arrangements.
