Zach Hyman scored two goals, including his 40th
of the season, as Edmonton won its second straight game.
Stuart Skinner made 32 saves for the Oilers and Ryan
Nugent-Hopkins had two assists.
Robert Thomas had a goal and an assist for the Blues, who have
gone 2-5-1 in their last eight games to fall off the pace in the
Western Conference playoff race.
Pavel Buchnevich also scored for St. Louis, Jordan Kyrou had two
assists and Jordan Binnington made 32 saves.
The Blues jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first 4:49 of the game.
Thomas struck first with a power-play goal. He took a pass from
Torey Krug and snapped a shot from the high slot through Jake
Neighbours' screen and past Skinner.
Then Buchnevich scored 2:30 later from the bottom of the left
circle after taking Kyrou's centering pass from behind the net.
Edmonton cut its deficit to 2-1 with 1:44 left in the first
period with a power-play goal. Hyman went to the net to convert
McDavid's centering pass from the left side.
The Oilers caught the Blues on a bad player change to tie the
score 2-2 at the 4:54 mark of the second period. Evan Bouchard
connected with McDavid on a long outlet pass to create a 2-on-0
break, then Hyman scored his 40th goal of the season off
McDavid's centering pass.
The teams exchanged great scoring chances early in the third
period, but Oilers defenseman Brett Kulak hit the crossbar on
one end, then Skinner denied Zachary Bolduc on a 2-on-1
opportunity at the other end as the game wound toward overtime.
